Our Vision

Stamford Medical is an international standard healthcare provider based in Dili, Timor-Leste that commenced its operations in November 2012. Since then, our main goal has been to raise the quality of healthcare in Timor-Leste to that commensurate with the health needs of Timorese society and international standards of healthcare quality assurance. With that in mind, Stamford Medical strives every day to deliver patient-centred, compassionate healthcare and make our services as inclusive as possible.

We are committed to staying in Timor-Leste. Our patients have looked to us for care and guidance for over 10 years, and we will continue to nurture that trust by improving and expanding our medical offerings to better serve the growing needs of both the local and international community.

Our Team

Stamford Medical has the largest team of international medical and medical support professionals amongst the private sector healthcare providers and our full resources are dedicated to our operations here. Our experienced Medical, Administrative and Management Teams are based full-time in Dili rather than on a rotational (locum) basis, which enables us to truly attend to our patients’ needs, and to provide continuity of care.

Languages spoken include Tetun, English, Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, French, German, Tagalog, Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa Indonesia.

Our doctors have a combined medical experience of more than 60 years in Emergency Medicine, Ambulatory Medicine, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Pediatric Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Allergic Diseases, General Medicine, and Occupational & Preventive Health, and over 30 years of combined experience in Timor-Leste. They are supported by a team of internationally accredited nurses (Emergency Room/Operating Theatre trained), laboratory technicians, radiographers, and pharmacists.

With dedication, humanity and professionalism, our team unites efforts every day to provide the best healthcare possible through a holistic approach from the very first moment our patients contact us.

Aside from setting a benchmark for international standards of healthcare, Stamford Medical is also committed to doing our part to improve the welfare of Timor-Leste.
